Me Marie-Joëlle Demers

Holder of a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Montréal (2007), Me Demers began her university studies in criminology and has focused her entire legal practice on criminal and penal law since her admission to the Quebec Bar in 2009.

She is the founder of Solution Avocat, Criminalistes, a law firm dedicated to representing and defending individuals accused of criminal offenses, in all judicial districts across the province.

With over 16 years of experience as a defense attorney, Me Demers represents a diverse clientele with an unwavering commitment to upholding fundamental rights and the presumption of innocence.

Renowned for her empathy, efficiency, and attentive listening, her clients frequently praise the quality of her professional support and her human approach, grounded in authenticity and trust.

Professionally, Me Demers serves on various statutory committees of the Quebec Bar, including the Committee on Access to the Profession. She actively participates in continuing legal education initiatives and acts as a trainer for fellow members of the Bar.

She is also Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee of the Longueuil Bar and served as Section President for the 2023–2024 term.

From 2019 to 2023, she was a Section Representative on the Board of Directors of the Association des avocats de la défense de Laval, Montréal et Longueuil (AADM).

Since 2024, Me Demers has been a member of the General Council of the Association québécoise des avocats et avocates de la défense (AQAAD), an organization that advocates for the professional interests of its members and the fundamental rights of the citizens they represent.
